government has come to resemble the characters in The
Wizard of Oz. We have the Cowardly Congress, a president without a
brain, and a foreign-policy establishment without a heart.
Our politicians are
still trying to play the empire game long after the age of empires has ended.
Blinded by arrogance, they cannot see that with every passing day, the world
needs us less and less and hates us more and more. We are passing through that
phase when the grandeur of the empire exists only in the minds of politicians
who have insulated themselves from reality.
A friend of mine, a
classical scholar, sometimes tells his students, "No one woke up one
morning in 476 A.D. and said, 'Gee, I'm in the Dark Ages.'" The transition
from the heyday of Roman power to a stage of barbarism was a gradual process.
We are in a process of change. No one is going to announce on TV that the U.S.
is no longer a superpower.
Nevertheless, the
signs are there if you look for them. A nation that was able to help crush the
Axis powers in three and a half years hasn't won a war since then. We have had
four years of struggling with an insurgency in a small, poor and broken
country. Our economy is shaky under mountains of debt. Half of our people make
less than 42,000 inflated dollars a year.
Where we were once
the arsenal of democracy, today there is hardly a major weapons system that
doesn't rely on imports of one kind or another. Much of the industry that is
left is foreign-owned. Japan, which once lay prostrate, dominates the American
car market. It is extremely difficult to find anything today that is not made
in China or some other cheap-labor country.
In the meantime, the cowardly Congress doesn't have the guts to tackle any of the major problems confronting the American people. Our president continues to embarrass us practically every time he opens his mouth in public. The foreign-policy establishment is riddled with aging draft dodgers agitating for more wars – against small countries, of course. ---(click for more) Paul Raises Jaw-Dropping $5 MillionOctober 03, 2007 1:16 PM ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: It dominated headlines yesterday when Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, announced her campaign juggernaut had outpaced all rivals in the campaign fundraising horse race with a $27 million haul in the third quarter. Today's fundraising announcement by (9-term) Rep. Ron Paul, the Republican Libertarian ob-gyn (MD) from Texas, doesn't involve quite as much money, but is downright jaw-dropping. His campaign is revealing today that in the 3rd quarter Paul raised $5,080,000. This is more than double his 2nd quarter figure of $2.4 million and no small sum for an insurgent (i.e., non-establishment controlled – Ed.) campaign. --(click for more) NORTH AMERICAN UNION AND GLOBAL
INTEGRATION
By Dennis L. Cuddy, Ph.D. At
an April 12, 1883 talk at the Twilight Club in New York City, former NEW YORK
TIMES editorial page editor John Swinton revealed: "We are the tools and
vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumpingjacks; they pull the
strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities, and our lives are all the
property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."
Almost
40 years later, New York City Mayor John Hylan delivered a speech in Chicago on
March 26, 1922. He was quoted by THE NEW YORK TIMES (March 27) as revealing:
"The real menace of our republic is this invisible government which like a
giant octopus sprawls its slimy length over city, State and nation. . . . At
the head of this octopus are the Rockefeller-Standard Oil interests and a small
group of powerful banking houses. . . . One of my first acts as mayor was to
pitch out, bag and baggage, from the educational system of our city the Rockefeller
agents and the Gary plan of education to fit the children for the mill and
factory."
More
recently, Douglas Valentine, author of THE PHOENIX PROGRAM (CIA torture and
assassination program in Vietnam), explained on Radio Liberty on October 18, 2006:
"Democracy has been hijacked from us. It's been hijacked by these very
powerful industrialists for whom the CIA really works. They don't work for you.
They don't work for me. They don't work for the middle class. They don't work
for the lower class. They work for a very elite group of Americans who control
the wealth in this country. And their job is, through whatever means
possible... to preserve the privileges of this ruling one or two or three
percent of the industrialists in this country. And, frankly, they do a very,
very, very good job of it."
One
of the members of the power elite who controls the world today is David
Rockefeller, and at the September 14, 1994 Annual U.N. Ambassador's Dinner
sponsored by the Business Council for the U.N., host Rudolph Giuliani
introduced Rockefeller as a "citizen of the world" and "one of
the formidable figures of the 20th century." Rockefeller then stated:
"This present window of opportunity, during which a truly peaceful and
interdependent world order might be built will not be open too long. Already
there are powerful forces at work that threaten to destroy all our hopes and
methods to erect an enduring structure of global cooperation."
To
what "structure" Rockefeller was referring was made clearer in his
MEMOIRS (2002), where he admitted being part of a "secret cabal working
against the best interests of the United States . . . conspiring with others
around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic
structure -- one world, if you will." Specifically regarding the Americas,
Rockefeller was a founding member of the Council of the Americas in 1965. And
at a May 6, 1996 meeting of that organization, Thomas McLarty (counselor to
President Clinton) referred to Rockefeller as his "valued mentor."
This was after Rockefeller referred to McLarty as "a reliable collaborator
in the effort to advance the process of hemispheric economic integration."
CFR's Hart Suggests False
Flag Event For Iran War by Steve Watson Council on Foreign Relations
member Gary Hart,
famed for stating that Americans will die en-mass on home soil this century,
and for declaring 48 hours after 9/11 that it should be used "to carry out
a new world order", has written a scathing letter to the leaders of Iran
clearly warning that the U.S. government has a history of staging provocations
in order to initiate conflict with other nations and that Iran could be next.
Hart references the sinking of the USS Maine in
Havana harbor in 1898, which led to the Spanish American war, as well as the
Gulf of Tonkin incident, which was ultimately the catalyst for airstrikes on
Vietnam.
Why does Hart reference these two cases? Because
they are both examples of staged managed events that were used to coerce the
American public into supporting war.
Return of the Robber BaronsBy Paul Craig Roberts August 01, 2007 As the Bush Regime outfits B-2 stealth bombers with 30,000 pound monster "bunker buster" bombs for its coming attack on Iran, the US economy continues its 21st century decline. While profits soar for the armaments industry, the American people continue to take it on the chin. The latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the real wages and salaries of US civilian workers are below those of 5 years ago. It could not be otherwise with US corporations offshoring good jobs in order to reduce labor costs and, thereby, to convert wages once paid to Americans into multi-million dollar bonuses paid to CEOs and other top management. Good jobs that still remain in the US are increasingly filled with foreign workers brought in on work visas. Corporate public relations departments have successfully spread the lie that there is a shortage of qualified US workers, necessitating the importation into the US of foreigners. The truth is that the US corporations force their American employees to train the lower paid foreigners who take their jobs. Otherwise, the discharged American gets no severance pay. [See, for example, BofA: Train your replacement, or no severance pay for you By David Lazarus, San Francisco Chronicle, 2006 ] Law firms, such as Cohen & Grigsby, compete in marketing their services to US corporations on how to evade the law and to replace their American employees with lower paid foreigners. As Lawrence Lebowitz, vice president at Cohen & Grigsby, [send him mail] explained in the law firm’s marketing video, "our goal is clearly, not to find a qualified and interested US worker." Meanwhile, US colleges and universities continue to graduate hundreds of thousands of qualified engineers, IT professionals, and other professionals who will never have the opportunity to work in the professions for which they have been trained. America today is like India of yesteryear, with engineers working as bartenders, taxi cab drivers, waitresses, and employed in menial work in dog kennels as the offshoring of US jobs dismantles the ladders of upward mobility for US citizens. --(click for more) EXPERTS PREDICT MONEY CRISISA Little-Known ‘Derivatives Debt Crisis’ Poses Threat to Entire Financial World By Christopher Ruddy July 9, 2007 Could the U.S. housing recession and recent events in the stock market be

Immigration Bill
Advances North American Union
Royce warned that the bill, if passed, would lead to more illegal immigration into the U.S. That was the result, he said, of the 1986 amnesty plan passed by Congress. Rep. Edward Royce, a high-ranking conservative California Republican, said over the weekend that a White House-backed amnesty plan for illegal aliens has provisions which undermine the national sovereignty of the U.S. and help facilitate development of a North American Union, much like the European Union that supersedes the sovereignty of 27 European countries. He vowed to defy the White House and mobilize House Republicans against the bill, backed by what he called the “open borders lobby.” Accuracy in Media has published several articles about the North American Union, the creation of which has been ignored by most of the media, except for Lou Dobbs of CNN and some conservative talk-radio hosts. Speaking to the California Republican Assembly (CRA) on April 21, Royce, the Ranking Member of the House Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade, warned the audience that the Bush Administration is failing to protect U.S. borders not only from entry by illegal aliens but from potential terrorists. ---(click here for more) A Free Press or a by Paul Craig Roberts

Not a Nation Ruled by God??? by Gene Reed --- February 14, 2007 In the Inaugural Speeches of our founding Presidents, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, etc., ALL pointed out that this nation was established under the rules of God and acknowledged God as our creator.
Examples include, in the words our First President, George Washington [emphasis added]: “… it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official act my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being, who rules over the universe, who presides in the councils of nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect …” “… we ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself has ordained” Then Washington summed up with, “… I shall take my present leave …resorting once more to the benign Parent of the Human Race …that, since He has been pleased to favor the American people with opportunities …and dispositions for …deciding on a form of government for the security …and advancement of their happiness, so His divine blessing may be equally conspicuous in the enlarged views, the temperate consultations, and the wise measures on which the success of this government must depend.” What we see in Washington’s speech is a reference to rule under The Ten Commandments, and a belief in Creation!! ---(click for more) 2-11-07 The State Does Have the Right to Stop Illegal Immigration!

Dollar Dethroned By Red InkBy Paul Craig Roberts - January 1, 2007 Will
Congress allow President Bush to waste another year on his Iraq misadventure while
serious problems overwhelm the United States? The Surge: Political Cover or Escalation?By Paul Craig Roberts - January 5, 2007 The New Year began
on the hopeful note that Bush’s illegal war in Iraq would soon be ended. The
repudiation of Bush and the Republicans in the November congressional election,
the Iraq Study Group’s unanimous conclusion that the US needs to remove its
troops from the sectarian strife Bush set in motion by invading Iraq, Donald Rumsfeld’s
removal as defense secretary and his replacement by Iraqi Study Group member
Robert Gates, the thumbs down given by America’s top military commanders to the neoconservatives’
plan to send more US troops to Iraq, and new polls of the US military that
reveal that only a minority supports Bush’s Iraq policy, thus giving new
meaning to "support the troops," are all indications that
Americans have shed the stupor that has given carte blanche to George W. Bush.
When word leaked
that Bush was inclined toward the "surge option" of committing
more troops by keeping existing troops deployed in Iraq after their
replacements had arrived, NBC
News reported that an administration official "admitted to us today
that this surge option is more of a political decision than a military
one." It is a clear sign of exasperation with Bush when an
administration official admits that Bush is willing to sacrifice American
troops and Iraqi civilians in order to protect his own delusions.

Only Impeachment Can Prevent
More War
Everyone knows that Bush’s
Iraq 'surge' will not work. Even the authors of the plan, neoconservatives
Frederick Kagan and Jack Keane, have emphasized that the
plan cannot work with any less than an addition of 50,000 US troops
committed to another three years of combat. Bush is only adding 40% of that
number of troops, and Defense Secretary Gates speaks of the operation being
over by summer’s end.
On January 18 a panel of
retired generals testifying on Capitol Hill slammed Bush’s surge plan as "a
fool’s errand." Even the easily bamboozled American public knows
the plan will not work. Newsweek’s latest poll released
January 20 shows that only 23% of the public support sending more troops to
Iraq and that twice as many Americans trust the Democrats in Congress than
trust Bush.
A majority of Americans
(54%) believe Bush to be neither honest nor ethical, and 57% believe that Bush
lacks 'strong leadership qualities.'
Nevertheless, Bush defended
his surge plan, telling a group of TV stations last week, "I believe it will
work."

The best postmortem on the 2006 election came from that
perennial politician, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA). He said, "People want to

issues, they want to have someone on their side."
The biggest electoral bloc of the "they" who are
seeking friends is the middle class, which includes people variously labeled
blue-collar workers, skilled workers, or Reagan Democrats. They are the swing
voters, often called the moveables. President Ronald Reagan's victories
absolutely depended on their support. But Presidents Bush I and II kicked them
away from the Republican Party, particularly on the issue of jobs.

Real Estate and the EconomyThe top of the real estate market was June 2005,
some 16 months ago. Since then the housing market has stalled out on a price
basis and some of the hot areas have begun to fall in price. As inventories
have climbed, homebuilders’ expectations have fallen. Sentiment is at the same
level as it was in 1991, which was about three-quarters of the way through the
last real estate correction. Builder’s incentives, in order to sell their
housing inventory, are now ranging from 8% to 15%. As you know during these
past 16 months we have recommended short positions in a number of building
stocks that are currently down 45% to 50% from where we recommended that they
be shorted. These were the same stocks that showed market leadership over the
past few years. The social consequences of the collapse of the real estate
bubble will affect us all. Some 40% or more of economic growth has occurred in
real estate and construction over the past several years. We believe
construction could fall 50% during the correction directly destroying 1.8
million jobs and affecting an equal amount or more of supporting employment. It
is great going up and painful coming down. The social consequences will be
difficult as well especially for the lower rungs of the employment ladder. All
those jobs our President tells us Americans don’t want to take. What does an
illiterate illegal alien do to find further employment? The social
manifestations have yet to be considered by Americans who are still in denial
that the real estate bubble is over...(click for more)
Globally Acceptable Truths in the Land of Eden
August 2, 2006 ByTom DeWeese I’ve written many times of the assault on individual thought through behavior modification techniques such as "Critical Thinking" as a tool to lash out at one’s values system, and the use of "situation ethics" problems to challenge attitudes, values and beliefs. These
tools are fully employed in today’s government school classrooms as a means to
create a new kind of thinking that is coordinated to fit a specific worldview.
"Thought control" is a much easier way to describe it.
It’s vital to understand this process and to be aware of its tactics so one doesn’t fall victim to its use. The pressure to rethink ones values is seemingly everywhere, from textbooks and classrooms to television commercials to on-the-job training courses. We are constantly asked how we can be so certain about anything. We are told there are no absolutes. We are told to just live for the moment. History is eliminated from civics courses. Math is questioned as to whether it is exact. Science is ignored for political gain. How did we lose our common sense? When did the ability to think rational thought become replaced with a whine? Where do these ideas come from? (click for more)

More than thirty years as a student of American history, constitutional government, and the Holy Bible leads me to the conviction that the two major political parties in this country are equally culpable in stripping America of its founding principles. The absolute rate of increase is now hidden, since the FED ceased publishing its monthly M3 value in March of 2006, after publishing monthly since January 1959. This was apparently done in order to hide their de facto ongoing dollar devaluation. The money supply has grown by approximately 50% since 1997, while the GNP has grown by only about 12.5%, meaning your savings are worth only about 62.5% of there value -- Now you known why the price of nearly everything is "inflated". Taking
precedence over everything else this month were the horrible events at the Twin
Towers and the Pentagon. To witness
these events on national television was absolutely horrible; our sympathies
for the grieving families and friends of the victims is boundless!! -- We ask
ourselves, "Why?"
While
the events of September 11, 2001 shocked Americans from a catatonic state, the
events couldn't open our collective eyes to their cause.
Understandably,
our nations' people reacted in sudden acts of long forgotten patriotism to country, and at least a momentary return to calls for God's protection
and support. It is indeed
lamentable that for a great many, God and patriotism have been long scorned,
only to be seized upon as a last resort, when the unthinkable occurs!
As
for ourselves, we were patriotic even when patriotism wasn't "cool".
However, President Bush's proclamation that these were "the acts of cowards" who "hated us for our virtues" and "hated freedom and democracy" was pure non-sense, acceptable as truth only to those who, in their quest for material things, have ignored and hidden from the acts of our government toward non-Israeli middle-easterners for decades... Alaska’s Gull Island Oil Fields Could Power U.S. for 200 Years By Mark Anderson American Free Press August 14, 2006 “Crude oil is the real ‘currency’ of the world,” said Lindsey Williams at a gathering of the Midwest Concerned Citizens group in Kansas City on July
22. But Americans will never hear about huge oil and gas reserves in the United
States, which, if ever tapped, would bring today’s fuel prices at least as low
as $1.50 per gallon and make America more energy independent.
President Quietly Creating - NAFTA
Plus – The American Union and the Amero for currency
by Jerome R. Corsi Without announcing his intentions to do so, President Bush has decided to support the creation of a North American Union through a process of governmental regulations, never having to bring the issue before the American people for a clear referendum or vote. The Bush Administration has decided to "back-door" the creation of
a North American Union political entity that would effectively erase our
borders with Mexico and Canada and create several super-regional governing
bodies that would have jurisdiction over the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Supreme
Court.--- (click for more)

A North American United Nations? by Rep. Ron Paul - August 28, 2006 Globalists and one-world promoters never seem to tire of coming up with ways to undermine the sovereignty of the United States. The most recent attempt comes in the form of the misnamed "Security and Prosperity Partnership Of North America (SPP)." In reality, this new "partnership" will likely make us far less secure and certainly less prosperous--- (click for more)
TOWARD A NORTH AMERICAN
UNION
PART 1 of 3
Patrick Wood The global elite, through the direct operations of President George Bush and his Administration, are creating a North American Union that will combine Canada, Mexico and the U.S. into a superstate called the North American Union (NAU). The NAU is roughly patterned after the European Union (EU). There is no political or economic mandate for creating the NAU, and unofficial polls of a cross-section of Americans indicate that they are overwhelmingly against this end-run around national sovereignty--- (click for more)
TOWARD A
NORTH
TOWARD A NORTH
--- It may not have occurred to the reader that the two SPP summits resulted in no signed agreements. This is not accidental nor a failure of the summit process. The so-called "deeper integration" of the three countries is being accomplished through a series of regulations and executive decrees that avoid citizen watchdogs and legislative oversight--- (click for more)
The
NAFTA Super Highway
by Phyliss Schlafly August 23, 2006 It's not just American ports that are fast slipping into
foreign ownership; it's highways, too. A Spanish company, Cintra Concesiones de
Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., has bought the right to operate a
tollroad through Texas and collect tolls for the next 50 years.
--- In response to recent articles in conservative publications
about the sovereignty, freedom and economic dangers that will result from
President Bush creating the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North
America (SPP) in Waco in March 2005, the SPP has issued an unconvincing
rebuttal.
This SPP
document starts by declaring that "our three great nations share a
belief in freedom, economic opportunity, and strong democratic
institutions." That's false; Mexico is a corrupt country where a few
families control all the wealth while the rest of the people are kept in abject
poverty with no hope of economic opportunity.--- (click for more)
BUSH ADMINISTRATION
IN DENIAL OF 'NORTH AMERICAN UNION' PLANS
By Tom DeWeese “Conspiracy theories.” “Fringe nuts.” “Lies.” “Myths.” These are the words being used by officials of the Bush Administration and others to brand those who have reported on the activities of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), currently operating out of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Opponents have charged the SPP will result in the establishment of a North American Union, much on the same lines as the European Union. In response to its critics, the SPP has added a “SPP Myths Vs Facts” section to its website at www.SPP.gov. According to the “Myths Vs Facts” document the SPP is simply a “dialog” among the three countries to “enhance prosperity.” It goes on to say the SPP is not an agreement, nor is it a treaty. It says “no agreement was ever signed.” The truth is, on March 23, 2005, President Bush met at his ranch in Crawford, Texas with Vicente Fox and Paul Martin (then PM of Canada) in what they called a Summit. The three heads of state then drove to Baylor University in Waco, where they issued a press release announcing their signing of an agreement to form the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP)...
